Welcome

Welcome to the web site of the Research Group on Earthquake Geology in Greece. Feel free to browse through the site and download our publications.

Please note that the site is under constant updating and some sections may be temporarily inaccesible.

Some of our team's recent news are:
  • The palaeoseismological trench (9 July 2012) near San Carlo and Sant'Agostino (Emilia Romagna Earthquake). See photos and details of liquefaction phenomena inside the trench.
  • The May 2012 earthquake sequence in northern Italy. Check out these photos by Riccardo Caputo and George Papathanasiou. Fieldwork is currently under way and more information will be available soon.
  • Gre.Da.S.S. (Greek Database of Seismogenic Sources), a constantly updated database of active faults and seismogenic sources in Greece and surrounding areas. Check also S. Sboras' PhD Thesis for the theoretical background and detailed descriptions.
