Stratos is currently working on the impact of Cenozoic deformation on potential hydrocarbon traps in Irish offshore basins. His research focuses on controls of fault zone structure and of fault system geometry by using outcrop and seismic data. During his PhD, he investigated the 3D architecture of normal fault zones by using an exceptionally high quality dataset from the Ptolemais lignite mines in Greece. From 2009 until now, he has been participating in several projects which cover applied research and seismic hazards.
